Talent can come from anywhere and it can take you everywhere. That’s the story of Dr. O.C. Newman, who moved to Oklahoma with his family to the western edge of Oklahoma shortly after statehood. After opening and closing a sanatorium in Shattuck, Newman continued providing medical services to the surrounding area, traveling on horseback to visit patients in need. In 1920, he founded a hospital in that town that has not only survived for a century, but thrived—earning itself a fairly fancy nickname for the high level of care it provides to patients in a four-state region.
What is Newman Memorial Hospital’s prestigious nickname?
